Data Policy
This policy explains the little personal data we process when you visit this website. This site itself sets no cookies and uses no tracking or advertising services.
1. Controller / Verantwortlicher
False Wall [legal form, if registered]
[Street and house number], [postal code] [city], Austria
E-Mail: contact@falsewall.at
2. Hosting
This site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA). When you open it, Vercel automatically processes the technical data your browser transmits (IP address, date and time of the request, requested file, browser type) to deliver the site and keep it secure. Log data is retained only as long as technically necessary. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a functioning, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be processed in the USA; Vercel is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
3. Website analytics
We measure overall traffic trends (page views, referrers, approximate country, device type) with a self-hosted installation of the open-source tool Plausible Analytics, running on our own server. It sets no cookies, creates no persistent identifiers and stores no personal data: unique visitors are counted using a daily-rotating hash of IP address and user agent, and raw IP addresses are never stored. All data is aggregated, remains on our own server and is never shared. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding aggregate website usage (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we process your e-mail address to send you development updates about Cursebreakers. The form is submitted via our hosting provider to our own self-hosted newsletter server (listmonk); your address is never shared with third parties. We use double opt-in: your subscription only becomes active once you confirm it via the link we e-mail you. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every e-mail or by e-mailing contact@falsewall.at; your address is then deleted.
5. Steam widget
We embed the Steam store widget for Cursebreakers, which loads directly from the servers of Valve Corporation (USA) when you open this page. Valve receives your IP address and may set its own cookies; Valve's privacy agreement applies: store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in presenting our own game (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. YouTube trailer
The trailer is embedded from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) behind a click-to-play
preview using the extended data-protection mode (youtube-nocookie.com). No data is sent
to YouTube until you actively start the video; only then does YouTube receive data such as your IP
address, and it may set cookies. Legal basis: your consent, given by clicking play
(Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). See
policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Social media links
We link to our profiles on Instagram and Facebook (Meta), TikTok, X, Bluesky and YouTube. These are plain links, not embedded content — no data is sent to those networks until you click a link and leave our site. Once there, the respective provider's own privacy policy applies.
8. Your rights / Ihre Rechte
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise any of these, contact contact@falsewall.at. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or the law. Current version: August 2026.
